What the Valley Panthers FC website collects, why, and how to ask us to see, correct or delete it.
Who we are
This website, shekwe.com, is run by Valley Panthers FC (“Shekwe”), Honde Valley, Mutasa, Manicaland, Zimbabwe. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by phone on +263 77 154 3122, or by email at info@shekwe.com.
What we collect and why
Joining the club
The join form asks how you want to join (as a supporter, an executive, a board member or a player), your name, phone number and where you live, and the membership you want. You can also give your date of birth, email address, playing position, preferred foot, a guardian’s name for junior players, and a message. We use these details only to handle your application and to contact you about your membership. If you join as an executive or a board member, or as a player in the men’s squad, the website checks the name you give against the club’s lists on this website (the Leadership and Players pages).
Joining as a player
Players choose a team (men’s, junior or women’s) and give their date of birth, and can give their playing position, preferred foot, any medical condition or allergy the coaches should know about, and two photos of themselves. Junior players also give whether they play with the boys or the girls, their school and grade. Players under 18 give a parent’s or guardian’s name, how they are related and their phone number, and the parent or guardian agrees to trials and training. Players already in the men’s squad sign up with a US$3 sign-up fee and get a sign-up number (such as PL-01). New players pay a US$3 application fee and get an application number (such as TR-01) and a private link to their application page, which shows their trials day and, after the trials, their result; those who pass get their player number. These details and photos are kept privately on the club’s website server, and only club officials can see them. Players don’t get a membership card. You can ask us at any time to change or delete your details or photos.
Membership and your membership card
When you choose a membership plan, the website gives you a membership number (such as VP-01) and a private link to your card page. After the club confirms your payment, you take a photo with your phone’s camera on that page. Your photo is used only on your membership card. Your details and your photo are kept privately on the club’s website server, and only you (with your card link) and club officials can see your contact details. Keep your card link private. Your card has a QR code: scanning it opens a check page that shows your photo, name, plan, membership number and whether your membership is active, so cards can be checked at matches and events. You can ask us at any time to change or delete your photo or your details.
Shop orders
When you order, we receive your name, phone number, the item, size and quantity, anything you want printed on it, how you want to pay and, for delivery, where to deliver it, so we can make your order and arrange payment, collection or delivery.
Donations
When you donate, we receive your name (unless you choose to stay anonymous), your phone number, the amount and the cause you chose. Payments go through EcoCash or PayPal. We never see or keep card details.
Fans’ Vote
When you vote, we keep your name and your choice. To make sure each fan votes only once, the website also keeps a small cookie and an identifier on your phone, a code made from your phone’s settings (such as screen size, time zone, software version and accessibility settings), and a scrambled code for your internet connection. Your internet address itself is never kept. Your name is never shown on the website, and only club officials can see the list of votes.
Awards Night tickets
When you buy tickets, we keep your name, your phone number, the names on the tickets, how and when you paid and the amount, so we can issue your tickets and check them at the gate. Each ticket’s QR code holds only a ticket code, no personal details. Only club officials can see the list of tickets. Guests the club invites, and the ushers and security working on the night, get free tickets: we keep their name, their role, the names on their tickets and, if the club has it, their phone number to send them the tickets, in the same way.
Messages
When you contact us on WhatsApp, by email or on social media, we receive what you send us.
Who can see your information
Only the club officials who need it. We do not sell your information or give it to anyone else. Payments are handled by EcoCash and PayPal, and messages you send on WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp, under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as the club needs it for the reason you gave it to us.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time. Contact us on WhatsApp on +263 77 154 3122 or at info@shekwe.com.
Junior players
Applications for junior players (under 18) ask for a parent’s or guardian’s name. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time about a junior player’s details.
Cookies and storage on your phone
The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It keeps a few small items on your phone so that it works properly: whether you have already voted and who you voted for (so you can follow the live standings), the identifier used for the Fans’ Vote, links to the Awards Night tickets you bought and to your trials application on that phone, and whether you have already seen the opening animation. The website’s fonts come from Google Fonts, which receives your device’s internet address when it sends them.
Changes to this notice
If the way the website handles information changes, we will update this page. Last updated: 21 October 2026.
