Late Pagaz winner sends Shekwe to the Division 1 playoffs
Goals from Samuel Museca and captain Tendai “Pagaz” Pagaravanhu gave Valley Panthers a 2–1 win at St Mathias High School on the final day and a place in the Division 1 playoffs.
Valley Panthers are through to the Division 1 playoffs. Needing a win on the final day of the ZIFA Manicaland Division 2 season, Shekwe beat St Mathias High School 2–1 at St Mathias High Grounds, with captain Tendai “Pagaz” Pagaravanhu scoring the winner in the dying minutes.
Samuel Museca scored our first goal, set up by Pagaz, and returned the favour by setting up the winner. Museca was named man of the match.
The two sides started the day two points apart, with St Mathias second on the log and Shekwe third. The win takes the Panthers to 34 points, one ahead of St Mathias, and into second place: the playoff spot.
It was the captain’s 17th goal of the season.
It is another big step for a club that entered ZIFA-affiliated football only this year, after winning the 2025 Honde Valley Social League.
Playoff fixtures will be posted on the Fixtures page as soon as they are confirmed. 🐾
